Denim Days Is Coming Home
Denim Days is like my mistress – she is the greyhound that I secretly think about when I’m petting my own. She caught my attention many months ago when Heather and I were in Birmingham to pick up dogs from Fishdog Kennels. When I opened her crate she bounded toward me and started covering me in kisses.
When I asked about her I learned that she was racing Grade A and winning enough to be moved to Gulf Greyhound when Fishdog left Birmingham. I was so excited for her as Gulf is my “home track”. I spent many a Thursday there enjoying 50 cent hotdogs and beer and dollar margaritas while watching some of the greatest dogs I’ve ever seen run. I was in love with Slatex Shell, who turns out to be Denim Day’s Grand-Dam.
Well, she has run her last race and is headed back to Birmingham to await our arrival. We will be picking her up on Sunday and welcoming her into a pack that has taken on a young new spirit. Stay tuned.

Hmmm, do I see another cute little face there in the “Welcome Home” category? Anything y’all want to tell us?
You two need to line up your whole pack, smallest to largest, or else color-coded, and take a picture. Not sure how you’d get them all to hold still for that — duct tape? — but it would make quite a lovely sight.
Congratulations!!!
