The long, gorgeous neck of a greyhound just begs to be adorned with beautiful collars. I spent years nurturing a collar fetish – not just special holiday collars. I had collars in every color and every design. From fancy to every day. I combed eBay *daily* looking for the next new collar. Eventually, my collar collection swelled to over 100! Well, our dogs don’t wear martingales every day – only for walks or special occasions. So, most of the time those 100 collars sat in a drawer. Eventually I quite buying them and ended up donating a lot to an adoption group. Now a collar has to be special for me to buy it. And I mean really, really special. So when I learned 2 Hounds Design was releasing the 2009 Hope for Hounds collar, I knew it would be one that I ordered.

2 Hounds Design is one of my favorite collar sites. I’ve been buying collars from Alisha for years. Superb quality, excellent customer service and some of the most creative designs you’ll find anywhere. They take collars from mere function to art. The trim features brown and tan greyhounds frolicking on a gorgeous blue background with the words “Hope,” “Believe,” and “Love” scattered about in the same hue as the greyhounds. You can choose the lining color you’d like, but I opted for blue so as not to distract attention from the stunning design of the custom -made trim.

Here’s a photo from 2 Hounds Design of the collar with the lining color I ordered…

The only thing better than the collar itself, is what it stands for. One community of dog lovers coming together to take a stand against a disease that has robbed us of too many precious greyhounds. Until April 1, $10 of every collar purchase and $4 of every key fob sold will go to support the important research being done at Ohio State University’s vet school and Greyhound Wellness Program. I can tell you first hand that the greyhound community is truly Blessed to have Dr. Couto and the other doctors and staff at OSU fighting for our greys.

So please. Even if you already own 100 collars. Even if your dogs only wear a collar on special occasions. Please consider adding this limited edition, beautiful collar to your hound’s wardrobe. Greyhounds everywhere will thank you for it.

Click here to order your 2009 Hope For Hounds collar (and leash and key fob!)

Merchandise Quality: 5 paws (collar contruction is second to none)

Merchandise Originality: 5 paws (You won’t find this trim anywhere else and it won’t be available forever)

Speed of Shipping: 5 paws

Customer Service: 5 paws (The order was smooth and flawless)

It's been years since I've ordered from Fast Jack. With new designs to choose from, I figured it was time to re-visit the site and beef up our Greyhound Wardrobe for our first GHFreaks vendor review.

Fast Jack has always been one of my favorite sites for greyhound-related T-shirts. Their designs are clever, original and unique and their quality is top-notch. I have several Fast Jack shirts that are over four years old. They’ve been washed a bajillion times and are finally starting to look a little ragged, so it was time to replace them. I figured that means it’s as good a time as any to write up a review for this site.

I perused the site and, as usual, had a hard time narrowing it down to just a few shirt designs. Fast Jack never fails to disappoint in presenting a novel look at greyhounds and all their quirky unique traits. While some designs are humorous, others are inspirational…there’s something for everyone. Or, as I like to think of it, a t-shirt for all occasions. I was delighted to see a re-make of my most favorite greyhound shirt: Greyhounds. Not skinny….Metabolically superior.

In all, I ordered 3 long-sleeved shirts for me and 2 for Ken – enough to qualify for free shipping, which is a huge bonus in my book (I love free stuff!). Two of my shirts arrived within a week. As expected, I love them! The rest, I was notified via email, would be arriving as soon as they were in stock. I also learned our order qualified for a free tee (extra bonus!). No big deal to us and I’m glad they notified us of the partial shipment.

Last Friday I received a call from Scott at Fast Jack apologizing profusely for the delay in shipping the rest of our order and asking if we needed them before Christmas. I said there was no rush and that after Christmas would be fine. The personal touch of actually calling, rather than send an email earns this company extra credit in the customer service department.

Merchandise Quality: 5 paws

Merchandise Originality: 5 paws

Speed of Shipping: 5 paws (yes, some items have been delayed. but out of stock items are a fact of life and can’t always be avoided. their customer service makes up for any dings they may have gotten in this section)

Customer Service: 5 paws

All in all, Fast Jack ranks among my All Time Favorite Sites for greyhound merchandise. I know I’ll be ordering from them in the future, and I hope you will too!
